hi a while ago i had a 20mph impact into the back of a 4 x 4 my fault they say but at the time i was avoiding a chap! who had pulled out on me that's buy the buy i suppose.

Today i rang Carole Nash who told me that the damage was going to cost £6500 to fix Bloody hell i thought that's going to write the bike off an 06 adventure with 40 thou on clock not so they have ordered the parts and are currently repairing her

The insurance valuation was £7600 it helps that i had just spent nearly a grand on servicing with some faultfinding new tyres and brakes ready for my annual trip to Spain. The insurance bod from AVIA who i am insured with took all this into account and explained that he could not find another bike and although the repair was over the threshold it was better to repair mine.

Thought i would share this new as it may help someone fight an uneconomical to repair claim but hells bells BMW spares must be bloody expensive i could have wobbled the bike home after the accident but the pain stopped me.

Good to know, as my insurance is due very soon. Cheers, I think you got a result there.

I insure with Carole Nash. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Had occasion to use their Euro breakdown/recovery when the battery failed on the old K12 RS near Le Mans. First class service from a very Gallic Gentleman who recovered me to the nearest BMW garage. We had a schoolboy French conversation about herons, bizarrely,
whilst sharing a Gitanes he asked me to light for him whilst driving/on his moby/eating his lunch. Great guy.

Couple of years ago, felt the need to park the GSA in a hedge on the way to work following a clout from a local blade in a suped-up Rover. His fault entirely. The repair cost was frighteningly similar and included a new front tyre and rim. Despite the front tyre being 1/2 worn they (CN)argued for a new replacement as there could have been unseen damage. Very pleased.

Incidentaly the other driver was TP only, fleet insurance, company based in Eire, new driver, in the wet, down hill, blind bend, doing 60. He said it was his fault as he'd done a similar thing not a fortnight before!

Just write that down, would you please? Officer, did you make a note of that!?

Fluff.

Charged me £25 to change address.7years with them will look else where in sept.

Hi just a comment on the last post my front tyre was brand new only had 45 miles on it and Carole Nash again argued for replacement on the same grounds.
I have heard a lot of criticism regarding Carole Nash but 6 years ago I had a 955 tiger stolen full payment within 5 weeks and a lot of help from them as my insurer tried to worm there way out by saying I was not insured to ride to my work place even though I was would have been a lot more difficult to prove without there help.
They may not be the cheapest but in the end you get what you pay for

Me too, ridiculous for punching a few keys and sending your amended documents via email. Your ink and paper, atrocious !!

Had a similar with Swinton. Changed from 3000 miles to 4500 mid policy, they charged 11 for the increase plus 25 admin. And they wondered why I would not renew with them! They even offered to give me a 25 discount to compensate. Told them to kiss my ass.

I too find their amendments fee is at best annoying. However in all other respects very pleased with Carole Nash and continue to use them. I might change when I dont need their "free" additions but for the last 8 years have not found anyone better. They were also the least costly when I owned a car in my own name (now we have just the one).

I would expect that a long term customer could wrangle them to waive a change fee for something like a change of address. I certainly would be giving it a very good try.

3 calls yesterday didn't do it.

I feckin' hate the 'admin fee' or whatever they call it

£35 to ADD a bike to my Policy

Carole Nash... :blast

Carol Snash gave me a great price on my first policy, next year, no claim, I changed bikes and they almost doubled the price so I went somewhere else

I like CN too, but when they send a renewal premium for £200 more than the year before (ie almost double) I went to Bennetts.

This year Bennetts want stupid money so I'm back with CN for less then I paid the year before last.

More than anything that really hacks me off, its just a feckin merry-go-round. Why not just give the most competitititive quote and be done with it FFS??

CN phoned me and asked if I was happy with my renewal quote. I said no and I was going to shop around. "What would be acceptable?" they asked, so we agreed a figure and after checking policy details and levels of cover I renewed.

All insurers seem to try it on with renewals, hence I never blindly accept the renewal figure. No matter who you insure with it pays to shop around for competitive quotes at renewal time.

I had a non-fault bike accident in 2005 and the solicitors appointed by CN were poor at best (I prefer the word incompetent). After a complaint to CN they appointed a decent solicitor specialising in bike claims and I won my day in court.

Happy to recommend CN to anybody.
