Howdy,

I've just received my 702BS and looking for some advice from fellow GS owners. I run a Cardo Packtalk Pro and an Android phone. I'm trying to connect this all up so I can listen to music/take calls, use maps/waze etc.

How do you guys connect it all up? Do you do just the phone to the TFT and then your cardo to the 702?

========

I have made this thread a sticky.

Bods might find it necessary to read through it all before starting. The thread does off at some tangents but it gets there in the end.

I fell into this problem. If you want that to work. You have to pair your Cardo with the 702BS. There is a rider/pillion option.

Do NOT connect your phone to the TFT, it will hijack the connection, and you will hear nothing from your 702.
I deleted the auto-connect between my phone and the TFT.
Also if you connect to the TFT the bike diagnotics will only show on your phone.

Once connected you can interact with your 702 Android apps via voice command, It will also read out any sms, whatsapp, or teams messages.
Volume control is on the 702 it has different channels for Nav (google, waze etc) and Media, so if you Nav is nice and loud and your media isn't its that

You can connect to the TFT or to the 702 but not both, it wont work. I found out the hard way.

Hope that helps :)

(Ps I have a 2024 1250GSA)

Not quite, your Cardo to the 702 and your phone to the 702
Then you 702 becomes the hub if you will

Ahhh - okay that makes sense. I'll give that a go.

I thought it was cardo to phone and phone to 702 and the phone was the hub - cheers mate!

I'll pair the Cardo to the 702 as the phone and test :D

Just took a ride out now and working lovely mate! Cardo voice works fine, the music auto plays, calls work fine.

My only concern is the crash detection on my Packtalk Pro doesn't work - I might try connect the Cardo to both the 702 and my phone..

Glad you got sorted 😁

You were quite correct originally, you need to connect your phone to the Carpuride user the BT option, watch vids on U Tube, then comms system to your phone ONLY, nothing to TFT, There maybe be slightly different options for android so check if so on U Tube

Same for Android. Works every time now. Just get on the bike and ride 😁

Yep - phone to 702 and cardo to phone. All works perfectly - get on and ride.

I thought about the Chigee aio6 but for the cost of it, i don't think the value is there.

on the 702BS if you press the button on the left hand side it will bring up the volumne menu.
alternatively, exit carplay/aauto and go to the settings menu and you can also adjust it there
if I get a chance a bit later I'll post a video or something

OK, needy technophobe asks question:

To clarify, I have never connected anything to the TFT.

djgsa finds the following set up works for android: Comms to 702, phone to 702. Sly confirms this by testing.

Later in the thread, KJB refers to Sly's original set up thoughts of Comms to phone then phone to 702 only and suggests that was correct. KJB is an iPhone user.

djgsa confirms this?

I simply cannot get the comms to connect, whatever I do! I'd be very grateful if an Android user could confirm what we should be trying to connect because at least I can then try and work out where I'm going wrong.

Thanks, chaps.

As advised previously on this site, my iPhone & Sena 60S are only connected to the TFT. The Carpuride is connected to my phone only via the in-built wi-Fi.
The added advantage is the connected app works.

I run the 702BS Pro and a Samsung 23+. I have my Cardo Pro connected to the 702 and my phone to the 702 and the Pro.

Make sure the sound output is setup correctly on the Carpruride too. Now when I turn the bike and my headset on, it all just connects up. I just ignore the TFT connection completely.

Correct, the bike TFT plays no part in this scenario.

If the TFT connects to your phone you will get no sound to/from the 702 as the TFT then becomes the hub. There is a way for the TFT to become the hub and get voice navigation from the 702 but I have not personally tried that myself. However if you do that I dont think you can interact with the 702 via voice commands.

Thanks for your reply. I am also ignoring the TFT. I tried your set up this morning using BT Trans and nothing could be heard. I tried to make and receive phone calls, which showed on the 702 but people answering couldn't hear me and vice versa. I also opened a radio station which I could see was streaming but once again, no sound in the headset. I checked the volume levels on the 702 in the settings, all good. I also checked that my phones volume was working, which is was but no sound on the headset. I might have to hard reset everything and start again as I've tried so many combinations I've confused myself, let alone the phone and unit! :DD :DD

Can I just confirm that when you say 'connected' you mean the following: Phone to the 702 via Wi-Fi. The headset was then connected to the 702 by BT and the headset had already been connected to the phone by BT. I'm wondering if the order this is done in is relevant?

Thanks for your reply as well. I think I'm going to have to start again!!
