Carpuride 702BS Pro connection advice

Thanks for your reply. I am also ignoring the TFT. I tried your set up this morning using BT Trans and nothing could be heard. I tried to make and receive phone calls, which showed on the 702 but people answering couldn't hear me and vice versa. I also opened a radio station which I could see was streaming but once again, no sound in the headset. I checked the volume levels on the 702 in the settings, all good. I also checked that my phones volume was working, which is was but no sound on the headset. I might have to hard reset everything and start again as I've tried so many combinations I've confused myself, let alone the phone and unit! :DD :DD

Can I just confirm that when you say 'connected' you mean the following: Phone to the 702 via Wi-Fi. The headset was then connected to the 702 by BT and the headset had already been connected to the phone by BT. I'm wondering if the order this is done in is relevant?
Update - I now have sound through the headphones, music, phone calls etc. when I connected the headset to the 702 only and not the phone as well. But it is clear that my mic is not working as I cannot be heard in an outgoing call or be heard in an incoming call. I can hear the caller though. I have checked that the mic master volume on the 702 is on high and that my mic is not defective by turning the bike off, reconnecting the headset to the phone and making and receiving phone calls successfully. Any ideas anyone? Worth trying to bypass the 702 by connection using BT Audio instead? (iPlay/Auto) Thank you.

No, phone to 702 via BT, I don't use WiFi on it.

OK guys, thanks. I will attempt it and not connect to Wi-Fi and see what happens. Even more confusingly, when I did connect to the Wi-Fi as per the instructions, I got two versions of 'Carpuride'. The first when selected just opened AA but no code prompt, the second seemed to have no affect or code prompt.

I spent some time trying to resolve this yesterday but was unsuccessful. I am definitely connected correctly as confirmed via videos from a very helpful forum member. I can also confirm that it doesn't matter whether you use Wi-Fi or not, as per the instructions, it will connect. I used both methods and was able to get to the stage I am at - sound in the headphones but the mic not working. I have a list of 'longshot' options and after that I think its time for an email to Carpuride.

Hi All. I've been trying to help out with this as I have mine working after a bit of trial and error.
I've done some video and screen shots at the link below if that helps any one.

Summary of my set up.
  • Bluetooth connect headset to 702BS (I have a Sena SMH-10), check the video, you have to use a special option in the 702BS not normal BT pairing
  • Wifi connect phone and 702BS (I thought it was bluetooth but apparently not) Phone is Android 13 POCO X4 Pro 5G
  • DO NOT bluetooth connect your bike TFT
With this I can
  • use voice to send messages, whatsapp, teams, sms
  • make/receive phone calls
  • get turn-by-turn navigation prompts
  • listen to music, (or any sound app like BBC sounds)

"ICC6.5in" I believe is my TFT, do not connect to that as this situation with the 702BS wont work.
There is a way to get the TFT to work but I've never tried it.

Hope this helps someone :)

Very helpful. Thank you.

Update - I have been carrying on with this and have not managed to get my mic working yet. I have learned two pieces of information that didn't make a difference to me but might to someone with similar problems:

1. Connect by Bluetooth to phone. The unit will then generate it's own Wi-Fi hotspot and connect to your phone automatically. It will look like mine above, entitled 'Available via Android Auto/Low quality'. Carpuride state you must be connected to both.

2. When making a phone call (as in you are connected, not just ringing), if you short press the power button it will bring up the sound volumes for voice, media and the mic. Sometimes. the mic volume has a cheeky habit of reducing for no reason. This is in the instructions but IMHO, lost in the indecipherable language used in this section.

Carpuride have been very helpful in helping me to eliminate potential barriers to the mic working. I attempted to connect via the iPlay/Auto method (This option is NOT for iPhone users only) yesterday but was unsuccessful, getting into a death spiral around following screen prompts. I emailed them last night and they have sent me a video this morning demonstrating how to connect using this method, which I will use tomorrow. I am actually out riding the bloody thing today !!!!!

Apologies to Sly for highjacking the post but a lot of users are having problems with audio with these units and it makes sense to share experiences in case we can help each other.

I used my 702 Pro (Not a BMW version), for the first time in anger over the weekend. A couple of 10 hour rides.
I use it with Kurviger.
It performed flawlessly.

On the phone I start the headset app / Kurviger / CamSam / Whatsapp.
Switching on the ignition, the Carpuride makes its network connection to the phone via A.Auto.
That's it.

Great to hear! I can't pretend that I haven't considered setting it on fire, then smashing it into tiny pieces with a hammer and scattering them to the ends of the earth and then petrol bombing the Carpuride factory. Luckily, age has made me slightly more patient! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I would offer to meet up and help you set it up but ya, mine just connects to my phone, android auto fires up, spotify plays over my Cardo and off I go.

One question: Are you connected via BT Trans or iPlay/auto?.

Carpuride (11e606) appears in both WiFi and BT connection lists on my phone.

It says the Carpuride is automatically connected via Google Play Services.
My apologies, I wasn't clear. Did you connect your phone to the 702 and your headset to the 702, using the 702 as a hub (BT Trans) or your phone to the 702 and your headset to your phone (iPlay/Auto).

I don't connect the headset to the 702 in the same way I didn't connect it to the XT.
I found it made a real mess of the sound that way.

I start the headset app and the headset. They connect.
I start Kurviger, and it runs in "follow" mode unless I enter a route and start nav'ing

Then turn on the ignition to start the 702 and that just makes the connection(s) to the phone.

Thinking about it, the 702 may have a connection to the headset.
I get 2 messages in the headset: Device 1 connected and Device 2 connected. One is the phone, so the other must be the 702, I suppose...
But, I never actively connected the 702 to the headset.
