Carrying Documents

Just back home from a wee jaunt to the North of Norway ,,,,, crossed 6 countries , no police interactions at all .
I recon it helps a great deal - - if you ain’t riding like a twat !
I always carry the originals in the boxes and a rolled up spare copy of
V5C
Ins
Passport
On my person inside my jacket .
What I did notice this time that’s new ,,, into Germany no stopping , waved straight through at the border .
On the way back there was a MASSIVE tail back from Holland into Germany .
The open borders experiment appears to be at an end .

France into Belgium, last weekend. The metal barrier things are for a bicycle race going on the next day.

I didn’t notice the border owing back from Belgium into France. It was only when I saw that the sign posts had changed, that I realised.

Just back home from a wee jaunt to the North of Norway ,,,,, crossed 6 countries , no police interactions at all .

How many border passport checks did that entail?

just a load of photo op stuff as there are local elections in Nordrhein-Westphalia in a few weeks. Incumbents want to show "something is being done" to try to stop the peasants switching to the AfD

But Belgium is not a real country. Let's be honest.

I think it is to the Belgians, all be it half of them want to be Dutch’ish and the other half, French’ish. They do though have an established monarchy, which makes splitting the country up (as was proposed, not so long ago) as happened peacefully to Czechoslovakia, a touch tricky.

There again, didn’t Milan want to split from Rome / Italy and of course, Barcelona wants very little to do with Madrid, and I’m sure a lot of Scots would like to do the same, divorcing themselves….. though most of them seem to live in Surrey.
