Black:thumb All of my 3 x 1150 supermoto's have had black 17" wheels - look great imo:)

Any chance of a photoshop job showing your bike but with black rather than blue paintwork and black rocker covers. Think it would look great:):clap

Bosh!

Gloss and matte versions...

Hmmm... maybe white bodywork, blacked out exhausts, starter motor cover and cylinder heads...

Looking good:thumb Have you had a chance to ride it yet? What do you reckon?

Only had a short ride (and on new tyres) so not had much chance to give it a good run.

That said, for the short run I had it's not hugely different feeling - not does it really feel much shorter

A longer test ride will tell.

having said that and just taken a quick trip to Sainsbury's it definitely steers quicker/lighter!

Can't wait to g for a proper blast

OK, so after a couple of commutes...

Cast wheels definitely make the bike a touch lower and while you do notice it, it's certainly not a bad thing. Actually makes the bike feel a bit more manageable.

Steering is certainly much improved - the bike feels lighter on it's feet - more manoeuvrable.

Putting the bike on the centre-stand does make the bike sit 'higher off the ground' and some had mentioned it makes it more prone to falling off/over, however I've found that if the steering lock and you knock the bike from the back the locked wheel stops it rolling forward - it'd take a pretty big shove to push it off the stand, so pretty confident that's ok.

Very glad I did the mod - looks ace too - I'll take better pics on the weekend and might even give it another wash for its first trip up to the Ace!

I am hoping to fit mine at the weekend. The speedo drive and new bolts have turned up. Just waiting for the call from the tyre place to say the new boots are fitted. I am awaiting delivery of an 850R front mudguard in the hope that it will fit!

I have done 35000 miles with mine now and they are a great improvement. The best thing is that you can use decent road tyres which give you a lot more confidence (and fun!). The 17" front wheel means it turns in much quicker and changes direction much faster. There is more weight on the front and you will find the front tyre wears quickly, mine only gets about 5-6000 miles while the back gets 8-9000, but I do ride mine pretty quickly!
This mod is popular in Germany and my bike was a 'parallel import' with the mods already done by the German dealer so they know when the're on to a good thing!
I really enjoy riding mine with this mod and am sure you will too:thumb2
