I know where you're thinking of, but no it's not. I could tell you......but then i'd have to kill you. ;) It's only about 3/4 of a mile away though.

No idea but it's certainly not a KTM Adventurer, have you got it yet?

Hmmm... a thread hijacked by black bomber riding north east tossers...

Tyre Pressures

Can anyone recommend tyre pressures for r1100s wheels fitted to my 1100gs with pirelli corsa?

TIA

pressures

Barry

I am running with 35 psi front and rear on Dunlop D208s. Works fine for me.

I know 170/60 tyre is optimum fit for 5" rim but would 180/55 be OK?

Tyre sizes

Hey M.M., Idont know about your 5" rim but I know a nice5.5" rim that would suit your ample supply of tyres!!
If you are looking to sell any once the bosses1200 arrives let me know.
Cheers Dave

Dave, Autojumble at Rufforth 1st Sat of Month, bought 2 rears and 1 front from BFM £160, well worth trip down.
P.S Don't listen to Geo, I just let her think that;)

If you really want the bike to handle put a 160-60 on the 5" rim.
It's REALLY noticeably more agile than a 170.
A 180-55 works and looks well FAT but the bike will prefer to stay upright.
The fatter the rear tyre, the slower the handling (on all bikes)

With less than 80bhp at the rear wheel you really don't need a fat tyre, (unless it's purely for that phat look)

:moped:

what about the brake discs? Are they all interchangeable? For example, the early 1150's have different callipers with the late ones. Are the discs the same?

Mudguards to suit

I`ve put cast wheels on my 1100gs and have a mudguard to suit a 17inch wheel on an 1150which I dont think will fit. Can anyone confirm this or advise if theres something similar available for the 1100. TIA

Agis: Discs are not a problem, but you need to match them with the wheel. The older 3 spoke wheels need different discs from the newer 5 spoke ones, which will take the discs from your 1150/1100GS

Barry: I don't think your mudguard will fit an 1100 as it has a different fork brace. Try Fallert's website in Germany.

Anyone else who has done the conversion might want to keep an eye on this 2.6 speedo drive which is coming up for sale.

Fallerts website

can anyone find me a nice small mudguard on this site. Cant read German. TIA

Touratech have this listed in their catalogue:

17“Carbon mudguard BMW R 850/1100/1150 GS/Adventure £ 124,93

01-040-1007-0

I don't know if it's for a 17" wheel or the mudguard is 17" long, as there are no pics.

If you manage to find one, I also need one for my 1100.

Just out of interest has anyone told their insurance company?, and if so what did they say?.

Thanks

I've told my insurers about all the mods I've done:
Chip
Y piece
Remus
3 spoke alloys with BT020's fitted
Adv tank & screen

No change to the premiums at all with BMW plan via Devitts. Now underwritten by Churchill rather than Equity Red Star, they also cover my Honda trail bike. Premium for both was £305 for comp cover on both bikes.

HTH,
