Hmm. was in asda today n noticed they had castrol gtx 10/40 4 ltr for £12 so seeing as the GS is due an oil change I purchased it ..when I was puttin it in the boot of car I noticed on the label it was synthetic ... will it be ok to run it in my R1100GS ? cheers

yes,it will be fine

It'll be fine, I think GTX is semi synthetic anyway.

There was a time when it was one of the recommended oils.

Cheers .. I have another GTX bottle in my lock up and its got semi synthetic on it where as the stuff I bought today states synthetic !! .. ah well itll be a treat for the ol girl ..

It's not fully synth oil. It's straight old school oil.

It says "based on synthetic technology" on the label. Completely different meaning to fully synth oil.
