Cat replacement Pipe

Hi all. I have a R1150GSA 2004 and I'd like to remove my cat and change it to a Y piece Kit. I would like to ask anyone with feedback (good or bad) regarding this modification to get back to me. I am planning to keep the end can as standard. many thanks for any advice you can give......... Donno

you can expect a LOT of heat to come out of the exhaust. with a high possibility of your indicator melting. panniers being scorched/melted.

Waste of time apart from saving weight and of course whatch for the indicator.

I too have an 04 GSA, run it on a 'Y Piece' with standard silencer for 4 years; no excessive heat, no melted indicators or panniers It was matched with a Remus race pipe for a while too, which gave a lot less fuel consumpton so the standard pipe is back on, I guess no two bikes are the same
