Center stand not going up.

Strangest thing.
Gs lc new. On the centre stand on concrete paving. Go to push it forward off the centre stand and the whole lot just moves forward. Have to put foot infront of stand, for it to go up. You can imagine the contorsion.
Bloody hopeless if the wooden floor of the shed is wet.
Anyone else find this?

If the floor is slippery, ANY centrestand will slide forward. I took my GSA to a workshop with a shiny floor a few months ago, and looked like a right knob chasing my bike around trying to get it off the stand!

Stick a bit of old carpet under the centrestand when you pop the bike up, and you won't have the issue.

I'll stick a bit in the top box for use when I fill up with the bike on the centre stand.

As per the handbook - Make sure the ground is level and firm and place the motor- cycle on its centre stand. Refuel with fuel of the grade stated above; do not fill the tank past the bottom edge of the filler neck.

Seems odd. For the sake of 3 miles less to a tank, I'll stick with the sidestand.

Do something else and you'll get something else!

Try using the side stand for the next 6 fill-ups and all of your fill-ups issues will have vanished

My GS LC manual says "Make sure the ground is level and firm and place the motorcycle on its SIDE stand. The volume of the tank can be utilised to the full only when the motorcycle is propped on its side stand"?
