Stay tuned for bush replacement on a 2004 R1200GS, just passed 70,000 miles... centre standy thing..

Spring puller? All you need is a handful of washers.
The centre spring mount onto the stand has a long threaded bolt. Fit the springs and wind it up. Easy peasy squeazy & thanks Mr BMW Engineer for fitting what should be obvious to other bike makers.
Can you estimate just how many times the centre stand was used during the 70k miles before this happened?![]()

Im thinking of a 2008 GSA but (stupid I know) thought they would all be the same. My old Yamaha had two stepped bolts on its centre stand which were a b'stard to fit. I fitted the spring and a bolt on one side The used a tapered podger bar to align the holes and fit the 2nd bolt. I was far more awkward than the GS (even without the winder bolt) but possible in the dark and no skinned knuckles.

Please do go on...
