I know somebody that has used the plastic snake type tubing that's is split and used to group cables together behind TV etc.

Cheap available in black and can just be cable tied on easy to remove clean and the re tie with new cable ties, even helicopter tape prior to covering

That’s exactly what I do on my Tenere centre stand

I fitted a Rugged Roads bash plate to my centrestand, which I highly recommend then some foam pipe insulation cable tied to it (neat thinner stuff). Gave great protection to the centrestand.

From my earlier post about the Survival Duck neoprene protectors, I ordered 2 new ones. I get the standard size, just a bit too short hence the helicopter tape
Horizontal bar and tape in A1 condition
The old one after 12 months, 6k miles compared to the new one. £2.99 each inc postage, took 2 days to arrive, bargain

Good spot HGS (y). They're now showing at £3.99 to £5.49 depending on width but still a cheap solution otherwise non branded chainstay protectors can be bought for peanuts on ebay (actually they work out the same price with delivery but still cheap at 99p for a set of two at 22cm long x 11 wide).

Hi

I havent seen that cover before. Although you shouldnt have to buy things like this, it would be money well spent I think.

The photo is the stand of my 5 year old GSA, not the best advert fo quality control.
That stand looks like mine on my 2015 GS, and that lives in a warm dry climate, not a good advert for BMW.

Just checked, paid for mine 6.50am on 23rd, they arrived 24th and were £5.98 for 2 posted
Cheeky monkeys have put them up a pound each, 33% increase, bloody inflation
Still good value and they wash OK
I did try some off ebay first but the stitching was poor....found these are durable

I used the Lizard skins on my mountain bike and they lasted well and did the job. I'll buy some helicopter tape and a two pack of branded neoprene sleeves and that should do the trick. AS HGS says, sticking on cheaper ones can be suspect.
