Anyone any experience it the brand? I’m kind of looking at a CF Moto 800 MT Explore. It’s got all the bells and whistles. 3 boxes radar front back and sides car play ect ect. The only thing it doesn’t have is keyless. €15189 is seemingly a good price for such a machine. 800 cc parrell twin KTM engine. Anyone any views knowledge words of wisdom? Should I buy a tracer 900 gt+ or a bmw xr 900 both dearer but got the name. I’m trading a nt1100. Thanks JJH

What will the chinese bike be worth in relation to the others when it comes time to trade it in?....Residuals......

I have a 900 triple. It’s a Triumph though. The Tiger 900 Rally Pro. It was more money than the CF Moto but so far it has been a good choice. Much lighter (63kg) than my Super Tenere 1200. Not much less power so power to weight is probably slightly better. I’ve put around 12000 miles on it in just under 2 years. I’ve toured the French Alps, Provence, Scotland a couple of times, Norway, Germany and tomorrow we’re going to Ireland via Scotland. The triple is a great engine, much different to both my S10 and before that my R1200 GS. Whilst both of those were great bikes the Triumph is a good choice for me now.

Unfortunately I’ve had a bad experience with triumph. 21 years ago I had a trophy 1200. I had a good bit of trouble with it. Wasn’t handed very well by the dealer. Dealer isn’t a dealer for tryumph any more BUT I tried to get triumph involved to help to no avail. I’d look twice and thrice but my history with them hasn’t filled me with confidence. I did nearly buy a 1050 model about 10 years ago but just felt I couldn’t get past the past experience. Might be tempted but it would take a lot. JJH

I certainly understand that. I’m the same with VW cars. A particularly bad experience with an 18 month old 1990 Passat estate. The worst car we’ve ever had.
Again the dealer was crap.
It does colour our future buying choices.

whats wrong with the nt

15k sounds a lot for a bike you dont see much of
Ahem I c the nt most days. I’ve 42,000 km on it. There’s nothing wrong with the nt. as you probably know most bikers do about 4-6 k a year and that’s what dealers expect so a bike with much more than that is crucified price wise on trade in. I’ve mostly changed my bikes every 18 months or so. The only bikes I’ve had any loyalty to is bmw. Unfortunately I got knocked off my rt a few years ago and when it was fixed 7000€ I couldn’t get a decent trade in as nobody wanted it. I’d like a rt again but as I’m semi retired I can’t justify the expense. JJH

Run the NT to 100k....if its paid for, you've had the depreciation hit already ?

A friend broght his CF Moto 800 to our TRF meeting last night, to the pub to give a talk about his recent trip and it was in the function room on the stage, so we could have a good look at it
He's done 6000 miles in 7 weeks on it (including a trip to Morocco and the Sahara)
Nothing fell off
Nothing went wrong
Still looked like new
Alloy boxes were well made and sturdy, even come lined too
Had a sit on it and it felt spot on
For £8000 odd he paid, it looks the dog's bollox and a quality bit of kit
4 years warranty and breakdown and now sold by KTM dealers too, as CF Moto make some engines for KTM

The CF Moto are starting to show up on the roads more and more here in Ireland

It's no surprise really given the rate at which the lads in Wexford are selling them.

It seems like every day three are a few new customer collections on their social media.

(Adventure Motorcycles Ireland in case anyone is wondering)

Sent with a Zen10

Seem like nice lads. I bought my nt off them. My brother has bought a couple of bikes there and so has my son. JJH

The KTM 790 engines seem to have been prone to cam lobe wear. Lots of stuff about it on the net. Apart from that, great engine! I loved my 790 Duke.

£8000? €15186 here. Tracer gt+
is €17600. JJH
Must be your taxes
His is the 800, one spec below the one with radar & camera bollox
His has heated seats and grips though
He said about £8200/300, with 3 alloy boxes
