Does anyone know why KTM suggest chain tension checks are done on the side stand and not, like every other bike I have had, on the centre stand?

Maybe because most of their bikes don't have main stands? Whatever, it's daft and confusing.

Might be somthing to do with the sprockets beeing lined up in the best position to make the adjustments while on the side stand? JJH

Interesting that in the 1290SA manual, KTM are specific that the bike should be on the centre stand when adjusting the chain. Not so for the 1190 though - wonder why there is a difference?

Has the 1190 got a chain?

Damn, would not have bought it if I knew that, or at least I remember saying I would never buy a chain bike again about 6 years ago.
