I hope this does not become like the "what oil" threads we see for the 1150/1200's. But it is time to replace chain and sprockets. just wondering what the preferred dry chain lube is? I have tried various oil/grease based aerosol chain lubes but never found a good non fling lube and fancy trying a dry one.

I have, on the recommendation from Nutty, just switched to SDOC and i have to say i am quite impressed.

Motorcycle Road and Race Ltd (01724 229666) are doing a good deal on S Doc100 Chain Cleaner and Chain Spray together with the Gel Cleaner.
I still use the S Doc100 chain cleaner but get better results with the Castrol chain lube.

Cheers for that will have a look as i like to bulk buy

Fling is good as it take shit away. Use an auto oiler, I have a Tutoro but Scottoilers are fine. The flung oil is easy to clean off as it does not cake on like sticky chain lube. The chain & sprockets are also easier to clean using paraffin, but you don't need to to do this very often as the chain keeps itself clean.

Before I fitted the Tutoro, I bought a can of Muc Off dry lube - I would not recommend this product. Once the solvent has evaporated it is invisible whih might be a good thing for some but I like to see a sheen on the O rings. It also takes a lot of scrubbing to remove compared to Scottoil or similar.

Don't Laugh, but I've been using chainsaw oil for years very sticky and anti-fling and bloody good value, done over 30,000 mile on the same chain and still doesn't need replacing :thumby:

Wurth now. I used to use profi dry lube but can't get it any more. The Wurth stuff smells exactly the same

Any chance of a picture showing where you located the lubeman on the F800GS?
