I sheared that bolt off too... Christ knows what kind of concrete esque locking compound bmw use.... feckin ridiculous..
Can you believe it - a dealer that can't drill out a sheared bolt? Even I can do that!

Took bike in for annual service and chain replacement, 5hours later after hanging around(home was 75 miles away) was told that the mecanic had sheared off a bolt on the chain guard
They tried but its a high tensile bolt and it just skidded off and damaged the swing arm.
This does not seem right - when is a bolt seized and how much effort was put into "easing" the bolt out before being sheared? Seems a very debatable point which could be argued bad workmanship meant the bolt sheared. Under the conditions you state the bolt should not have seized under such normal wear and tear and therefore is a warantable item. Worth a try but you have probably looked at this already.
