I'm changing the RT on saturday for a GSA so phoned Swinton to ask to change bikes thinking there would be another so called admin charge and maybe a little more for the greater insured value. Spoke to a nice young lady who said it couldn't be done and she would have to get a new quote....Hmmmmm....here we go!
5 mins later I've answered all the questions and she says my insurers (AVIVA) won't insurer upto the £17500, their cut off being £15000 and she can only find two insurers that will quote, the best being £512.55, my 2014 RT being just over £200, needless to say I'm not too pleased.
She also tells me that if I cancel there will be a £50 cancelation. I politely tell her I will try to find my own insurance on the WWW and say I will phone back.
Off I go to go compare and low and behold get 26 quotes ranging from £300 to just short of £600. Phoned the nice lady at Swinton and get a nice gentleman this time, explain everything again (like this post....BORING!) and they can't match the best quote so I cancel and pay £50 cancelation fee.
I now take the best quote on the compare site (Bennetts, hope I don't regret this) pays my money and get the policy emailed to me.

Now here's the point! My insurers are AVIVA, Yea! the one and only, the one that the "nice lady" said wouldn't insure unto £17500 so I would have to take a new policy out.

Just takes the edge of getting the new bike......Sorry for the long and boring post but sometimes you just have to get it off your chest.....THE SET OF SHARKS.....THE LOT OF THEM!
