So I changed the driveshaft on a 1999 1150 and now the RID shows no gears except Neutral and fuel guage only shows in Neutral and shows FULL. Looks like an earth issue?

Sounds like an earth issue, have you left anything disconnected?

Ok, it could it be a broken wire around the headstock area, i have read a few post on here saying thats an issue on these things, and its just sod's law kicking in that it has manifested itself at the same time you changed your driveshaft.
So, Multimeter and a a wiring diagram and check the grounds from the RID to the frame/engine.

Check you didn't disturb the gear indicator on the rear of the gear box when changing the shaft.

Apreciate it, I had a hunch it might be that as its the only thing back there just had no time to look!

just looked, looks fine, a twist and a push seems ok but did it click? Try ignition all works oh well another lesson learnt
