It's numpty time guys :o

I have a brand new laptop and obviously want to transfer the Mapsource software to it.....

What with unlocking codes and things, I feel a little nervous

Help an old tosser :rob please - how do I go about it.....:o

Install Mapsource from DVD/CD’s to laptop

Enter 25 digit unlock code to unlock mapping to the GPS when asked during install

Download and Install latest Mapsouce update from Garmin
Here: http://www8.garmin.com/support/mappingsw.jsp

In theory, that’s it, but I’d check the GPS is recognised by the laptop when you plug it in, and if you want to check further, I’d try installing mapping to a spare card and check the GPS accepts it.

Can’t do a lot more because I’m at work.

Thanks for the very rapid response ebbo.

Not sure if I was very concise to begin with - Mapsource is already up and running on the old PC and as I seem to remember, you can use/unlock the software on max 2 different computers - so I don't want to lose one of them when the old unit gets tossed - so it's removal is really my problem......

Not so the Mapsource City Navigator can be unlocked for use with two GPS's, you can install the software and unlock code on as many computers as you like. So un-install/re-install away :thumb
