Changing colour ......

Now there's an idea. But why do I suspect they would come back metallic pink or purple..

Actually, metallic bubblegum pink sounds quite good.

Or maybe KTM orange.

Sorry. I'm on the phone.

I have a customer that's looking to have a Kawasaki green type scheme and I think it'll look ace!
The beauty is that it's a relatively small percentage of the bike overall so one can get away with being a bit flamboyant!

Flamboyant is another way of saying :ymca :D

But I'd want a unique colour.

Although I LOVED the Black with BLUE metalflake that my Suzuki Bandit 600 came with (standard colour).

I have a complete spare set of bodywork (well, it's only 2 panels after all) for the GS, so if I didn't like the colour, it wouldn't be a big problem..

Cheers fella, I really like that bronze!

Faster Red

Ayeup lad's

Having replied to Chris's thread about the free spray job and being a tight Yorkshire man I thought I would give it a go. The first GS I bought was of the white variety and my latest was bought as a grey one but wanted to go a bit faster and really wanted a red one. At the time the grey was the only one available, anyway having sent the panel's off to Chris I awaited the result's.
The panel's are back on the bike and IMHO he has done me proud I am no expert but I am really pleased with the result's top man!. As I type this my pride and joy resplendent with fresh spray job, a freshly re-covered Tony Archer seat (another top bloke), and new pair of tyres is speeding it's way on it's maiden voyage on the back of a recovery truck. It was sat for four week's, been away on holiday and then waiting for the panel's. Got the thing back together thumb the starter and the bugger just turns over and doesn't even try to fire up. The sense of disappointment was overwhelming and left me sat in the garage cryin into my cuppa:blast.
Once again my thanks to Chris I wouldn't hesitate to use his services in the future:beerjug:.

Any thoughts about dipped graphics finishes?

I did look into it but decided that it's likely to be a bit of a fad. I've not once read anywhere on any forum that I post on of people having it done let alone raving about it.

In setting up my facilities I concentrated on traditional paint, it's important at this early stage that I don't invest too heavily in equipment that could quickly become yesterdays news!

I could of course be wrong?
Ask me again in a year's time :D

Very sensible. Its all too easy to get caught out and there are not many transfers designs available.

However, I have seen an 1150 done in desert splinter camoflage colours. It was done before dipped transfers existed but really did look the dog's bits. Maybe a film wrapping job is the best option. Not (too) costly and can be quickly returned to original (i.e. the film gets ripped off again).

I like the red pain, my favourite colour. I'm considering the new GS adventurer coming out in 2014 but they don't do red! Still, removing parts and putting them back is a real faff! Excellent paint job though.

Fella taking the beak and tank panel off takes about 10 minutes!

Photoshop......or equivalent

to make colour choice simple just get a decent picture of your bike, photoshop out the bits of existing colour then refill with desired colour.
if you think it looks naff, try another colour....

Off to play with photoshop....
