hi,
just done the exact thing your thinking of,08 gsa to 800xc
i had some reliability issues on my bmw,i understand thats not a massive common issue, felt it was to costly to keep, stuff like the daft clutch, having to split the bike in two for replacement, also i had the esa version, which i never felt was worth the money, and sooooooo expensive to fix(and yes was replaced under warranty),once again i was unlucky, before ya all moan....the fuel tank is great,BUT only if ya all got them,so whats the point and finally had the worst local dealer on the planet(barrie robson)
on a plus side i like the look of the gsa,and the best on holding its value,
the xc,am very happy with mine, yes like any bike ya need to farkle it to feel right(feck me bmw,s are)loverly engine,on par with the gsa 08,defo lighter, lower long term running costs, although proberly lost in the resale value,
i think it looks smart, and yes its a british company
