Excuse me but totally unfamiliar with this bike ....can anyone tell me if there is/ where is the charging socket please. Thanks.

on the side panel under your right butt cheek - it's very handy for plugging in my Keis waistcoat and insoles which are under the 5A threshold where the bike's electronics shut down the current.

I have fitted a fag socket at the bars by fitting a piggy back fuse to the switched fuse located just under the front edge of the rider's seat under my bollocks. Earth lead attached to the frame at a convenient point. I then ran the lead under the tank shroud. The socket is a flying lead which is long enough to go into my tank bag to power a phone charger etc. I can also use this socket for my tyre pump as the fuse is big enough. The socket with 2m of cable and piggy back fuse were sourced from Ebay.

About time someone replied. Christ I've been waiting 9 minutes for that 😉 ! Cheers Wessie, much obliged.
I've read somewhere here about Thunderboxes with a view to connecting non BMW heated grips ( possibly) and a Sat Nav which doesn't affect the Canbus. Is that right and without doing any searching yet do the Thunderboxes come with different numbers of outlets as I only need 2 ? Thanks.
While you're here ( and anyone else)...

Not used a Thunderbox but I hear good things about them. Easy to fit. The battery is stuffed inside the frame but BMW fits a remote post for jump starting and attaching accessories. The negative post is easy to access. You could take the trigger wire for the relay from the back of the accessory socket or rear light. You would want the grips and satnav switched with the ignition.

Most used RS will be SE Sport models with factory heated grips. Not many around that are not the top spec.

I use a Zumo 390 satnav, attached to the clutch lever housing with a RAM part included with the standard pack. I use the same fly lead mentioned above for power. The OE sat nav location is crap and the BMW Nav stupidly priced.

I fitted a Thunderbox, it works really well - it prevents overload to the device, and switches it off when the the power is off (and on when it is on), preventing battery drainage. It also tidies up the 'too many wires' issue. There are two- 1, for 4 accessories; 2 for 9 accessories. 1was enough for me.
