Hi all
Have read loads of threads re charging light probs, just to confirm 93 R100 gs charging light didnt come on when ignition switched on but having started would flicker when idling.
Now doesnt come on at all last trip 40 miles since light failed, battery still seems to have lots left in it, diode board doesnt look or smell fried. The alternator looks in good nick and the brushes have lots of length left in them The warning light bulb is ok.
I havnt done any multimeter tests yet as I am not good with electrics. The big question is, is it the rotor. All the other posts seem to point to this
Any help appreciated.

you dont need to remove it just lift thr brushes put a business card underneeth them then put the probes on the rings, open circuit = knackered rotor. continuity between either ring and earth = knackered rotor. iirc if the resistance between the rings is anything other than 3 ohms its knackered aswell( please wait for grown up's conformation on resistance). it is also worth checking that you havenot crushed the wire at the top of the front cover when it was refitted.
