Check your fuel tank for splits

There have been numerous reports in the last couple of months on F800riders.org of splits in the sides of the under-seat petrol tank. Sample pics attached below.

Apparently the fuel tank is double-skinned, so it may not be as frightening as it sounds, but just in case please check your bikes and report back if you find anything--and obviously contact your dealer.

I'll have a check but seeing as I've had a faulty return valve, resulting in an excessively sucked in tank AND heavily dinked a notch out of it on my mum's garden gate my experience is, they really tough!
