Chigee AIO 6

It has to be a USB-A to USB-C cable. A “C to C” won’t work.

It also won’t have enough power to run the cameras if you have them plugged in.

They document it on their support page

It should power up and stay powered up just fine then as long as it’s a decent quality cable and a charger putting out enough juice, it sounds like the voltage/amps isn’t enough to keep it powered on
Thanks, yes, I reset the whole unit and then it worked. All updates and downloads done
Question - I have it linked to my phone via carplay. What about the maps?
I use MRA. How do I get the maps downloaded onto my phone so the Chigee can still navigate even though there might not be any internet connection?

So in the MRA app on your phone assuming you have the paid version go into the 3 lines, then into the top right icon of a person, then scroll down to Offline maps

actually.....there is no ´´crap´´ BMW version EV, its a Chigee AIO 6 with an optional BMW cradle adaptor. They don't make versions only for BMW. It has a universal set of connectors so you can wire it straight to your bike's battery. The BMW adaptor means it will sit in the navigator cradle and work with the wizzie wheel....
The Chigees are quite fussy on power supplies. Mine wouldn't work on a high power charger but was fine on a low power one

They are now shipping again. I got a DHL tracking number for Monday 😁

Started fitting to the Stelvio last night, it’s looking good so far. Took the power from the cockpit mounted USB, so it’s neat with no exposed cable runs.

Will finish it tomorrow, as down in Cardiff now for Amon Amarth and Slayer

Finally arrived. All set up. Install cameras tomorrow.
Initial impressions.
  • Top-notch packaging.
  • Superb build quality.
  • The screen is super smooth.
  • Super simple setup.
Happy bunny so far 😁

It's a great bit of kit. The only slight niggle i've got is that the protector that I got with it is a pain to get on and off. It needs to come off to get to the card slot and the external off-bike power supply. I just leave it off, it's that much of a pain, pointless having it really.

which protector ?

which protector ?

VIPs got a protector that’s a bit like the bumper protectors for phones. I got one, but my wife with super early bird order didn’t.

It’s a right pain to get on and off, but in over a year with the AIO-5 I never once had to access the card, so I don’t foresee an issue.

Not sure if you can make it out here

^ As above. But I access the card regularly. I like to supply the video of IAM observed rides.

The protector is now supplied as an option for £20.

I suppose you’re downloading a lot of videos, so prefer to remove the card than use the Chigee app. It gets a bit cumbersome I bet with loads of 2-3min videos.

Exactly that. I sometimes do it through the App, but when it's 1.5 hr footage it's just too much. Its easier on the 6 now than what it was on the 5, but I've just left the protector off for now.
