Chigee AIO6 with cameras & nav cradle?

I'm considering upgrading my AIO5 to AIO6 LTE or Max but this time adding front and rear cameras. I'd be using it with the nav cradle and wondered if anyone had this set-up. I ask the question as I understand it wasn't possible to use cameras on the AIO5 when attached to the Nav cradle as it couldn't deliver enough power. Thanks

I have that setup, I had the AIO-5 Lite before. Assuming you have the AIO-5 Play, that was mountable to the nav just because it didn't have cameras which where wired directly to the unit as the Lite did. Since then Chigee have developed a modular system that allows for a nav mountable unit with cameras that have a separate power source that needs to be wired into the bike, but has a quick release connector so you can remove the unit from the nav and leave the camera connection in place. It works good. In hindsight I should have got the MAX rather than the LTE, I use the LTE mainly for its novelty live view. The security part of it is pretty much worthless. The remote information given regarding battery voltage isn't accurate, the geofence doesn't work right. I don't think I'll renew the data when it expires, essentially making it a MAX, but with the extra SIM slot. Just my thoughts.

Many thanks for the information. I heard it was possible to power cameras from the nav cradle with AIO6 Max and not the bike but that doesn't seem to be the case. I just discovered a some videos that go through the process of powering the cameras and it seems pretty straightforward.

It's straight forward. I've heard that you don't need the yellow acc wire connected if you don't have the LTE version. But even that's not so difficult to sort out if you want it. But you definitely cannot power the cameras from the BMW nav cradle, that I know of, and if someone has devised some way offing it, it's probably more complicated than the proper QR cable.

I have a AOI6 but zero interest in the cameras. A mate has them and they are nice but not for me. As for the Nav unit or phone “mirror”, I love it. Only thing it eats phone battery but luckily I put my phone in my pannier and plug it in.
