Chigee integration with 1300GS - help needed

Help needed trying to make Chigee work with iPhone and R1300GS. I have recently purchased a 2025 1300GS (ASA clutchless model, in case it is relevant). On a recent trip abroad I struggled to get the Chigee to work the way that I wanted and to be integrated with the wonder wheel.

My set up is a iPhone running MyRouteApp (MRA) for navigation. The iPhone would bluetooth connect the 1300 and my Sena headset but not the Chigee. The Chigee would show the MRA app from the phone but presumably it was going through the bike. And the wonder wheel's integration was not very useful (it wouldn't zoom automatically or manually). I tried deleting the bike from the system and connecting the iPhone to the Chigee but it didn't work.

Any advice of making the system work? I would like to use the Chigee as a bluetooth mapping system with full wonder wheel integration. My previous bike was a 1200GS and so I didn't have to bluetooth to the bike. Thanks in advance.

I don't have the Chigee, I have the INNOVV N2. The N2 needs the WIFI enabled and linked to handshake. (I think). Could it be this? It needs both BT & WiFi. HTH

CarPlay only uses Bluetooth to start the connection then moves to WiFi.

You connect the phone to headset and phone to Chigee. You do not connect the headset to the Chigee for CarPlay (Android Auto is different).

If the Chigee was displaying MRA then it was connected to the phone - CarPlay can’t connect via the bike as it’s a direct WiFi connection from phone to Chigee.

The Wonderwheel won’t zoom the app the Chigee is displaying when you twist it. The wheel only connects to the Chigee and controls the “selection cursor”. You rotate the wheel until the button you want to select is highlighted, then nudge the wheel to the right.

This is a limitation of CarPlay - the phone/app never receives the signal from the wheel and therefore can’t use rotation of the wheel to control zoom etc. It can only be used to select highlight buttons on CarPlay to then “press”.

On MRA you move the box to the zoom in/out button then nudge to do the zoom.

If you’ve ever seen the Africa Twin implementation of CarPlay (which uses a joystick instead of the wheel) then it will be familiar.
