Looks like a load of PR damage limitation to me.
It's like all the bastards in the Post Office scandal who knew what was going on all along, and now claim they had no idea, and are oh so sorry they did not pick it up earlier.
I bet they won't go back and refund everyone who paid to get their bikes fixed, they will have a whole bunch of excuses lined up to deny those claims, and many would of lost money selling the bikes at knockdown prices to avoid the risk of this happening to them, and resale of the latest models will have been hit.
Who here would now consider an 890 / 990 Adventure / SMT etc who may have done before all this came to light?
I do wonder if CF Moto took the decision to do something better with their 800, or if they are tied to spec / parts approved by KTM - i.e. they are not allowed to do any development or modifications?
Also as they are imported by KTM the 4 year warranty on them is only as good as those approving warranty claims, I just wish Suzuki would do some more tempting variants with their 800 - something along the lines of the SMT would appeal to me.
I keep screaming for a modern version of the TDM900 to come from somewhere - and without any keyless ignition or electronic suspension at a sensible price point....
.....CF Moto should of teamed up with Suzuki or Yamaha.
