choke setting

I have just replaced the throttle cable, boxed the lot up, sync'ed up, but now the choke cable does not lift the revs. I have checked all the cables, twice, the slider in the splitter box moves but only just starts to touch the throttle cable wheel. The choke was OK before I started. I have adjusted the small cables tight and slack. Any idea where I may be going wrong?

Go back and re-sync your TB's, you didn't do it 'quite' right.

Checking the 'choke' after a TB sync is the final check to see if yo did it properly. Don't feel bad about it, most of us who have done our own TB sync run into this issue at least once (or maybe twice, and possibly three times  )

Things to remember to do for the sync, loosen all the cable adjustors before you start the sync process (twist throttle, choke, and at each TB). Do the sync process of the idle air by-pass screws, and the bowden cable adjustors at each throttle body.

When you are done, REMEMBER to take out the slack at the twist throttle and at the 'choke' lever. (I tend to forget this part alot ;) )

Thanks for the reply Guzzler.
Rodger, I think the bit that did the trick was to take up the slack on the throttle body adjusters all the way untill just before they start to open the throttle (revs go up). I think there is very little lift on the choke slide ramp so if it has to take up any slack left in the two throttle body cables it never gets to open the throttle.
Anyway thats what worked for me.

So why is the knureled (?) cable adjuster not a nut head so you can get a spanner on it?
