If your not 100% stay at home, come out another time, just P.M me anytime and I`ll guide you about.

Bakes,

Don't you worry!

I am a committed bacon roll tester :D

I know it's going to be tough in my four wheel GS but I will just have to grin and bear it :D

Thought you were planning of checking routes Saturday or did I get it wrong?

Will check in the morning and see what the plan is.

Dak is part clean, has oil all over the back tyre (it's icy so shouldn't make too much difference :D:D:D) and setting off to DJ's at around 1-2pm.
Have my new look outfit all ready to go (windproof and ever so gay so should keep me warm). Muffs being fitted for the ride down and the ride back, so hands will be toasty:thumb

Looking forward to this one guys, it'll be a blast :bounce1:bounce1:bounce1:bounce1:bounce1

Bakes, don't forget them pasties fella :D:D:D:D

Bright sunshine and frost here in Somerset, haven't bothered in cleaning the bike and heading over lunchtime for a little ride this afternoon.

Forecast for tomorrow is sunny and cold ..... should be good.

Plenty of photos please, and some footage of video would be nice, I'm working so that will have to do me.......Enjoy!

Timpo.

just had a text from Tom, he says his grandad has had a stroke so he went off to cornwall this afternoon.

My DR is in the back of his van !!!

Will have a go at riding the GS down - it has nearly bald Michelin Pilots on:blast

I wimped out as well. But did make it down for a Bacon Roll and donut.

The morning was going well until I stuck the carefully programmed Zumo on the bike and it refused to find any satellites or do anything useful. Never I mind I thought I'll reset it when I stop for fuel only to find I did not have an allen key to take the battery out :eek. So I carried on using my sense of direction. Was travelling down the M3 when I overtook a Nissan Patrol - I recognised some of the stickers on the doors and noticed as I went past that it looked like the great St. Eptoe. I was on the A303 heading towards Andover when I was passed by the Nissan and assumed that he would know where he was going. This lead to me following him down a country lane where he u-turned and I carried on and then got lost before eventually finding the Bakery more by good luck than anything else.

When I got there my hands were so cold, even with heated grips on, that I struggled to get my earplugs out. Nipped into the bakery for a bacon roll and cup of coffee and the requisite donut before having a quick look at the bikes out the front and then watching everyone disappear off for some fun before I hooned back to my parents in time for lunch. They seemed to think it a bit weird that I would ride a 175mile round trip just for a cup of coffee and a bacon roll.

Hope that everyone had a good time. I will be at the next one, if there is one, on the X-Challenge.

Cheers guys, great day and good to meet you all.

Thanks to Paul for leading us, I got to see some stuff I hadnt seen before around here. Hope no-one thought I was rude cutting and running before Bakes, but I was about half a mile from home where I turned off and its nice to be out of that wet gear - can't believe I found the biggest puddle to drop it in :D

Anyway, hope you all get home safe and look forward to seeing you all again.

I was with Craig's group. I think the new sport we invented is called GS Curling

We had fun even before we found the first dirt ... one of those concrete tank roads with a nice steepish slope and a half-inch of ice. I learnt some valuable lessons about the ineffectiveness of brakes on an ice rink :augie ... I distinctly remember lying on the ice looking back up the slope to see GSes dropping, spinning and sliding as far as the eye could see.

Hope the guy with the dislocated left pinky is fine. It was a stroke of bad luck that could have happened to any of us - if it was me you tried to avoid then I'm truly sorry :blast and owe you a drink.

After the curling it was a great day out. Lots of ice breaking (puddles had a full inch of ice that made a very nice pop as 300-odd kg of GS and rider comes onto it) and slippy tracks. Luckily didn't go down again (despite Tourances!)

My sincere thanks to all involved. :beerjug: Fantastic fun.

A big thanks to ALL the guys who organised this outing and to those that led the groups.

In my group - the novice section - the leaders were VERY capable riders who put themselves out so that people like me could enjoy the day.

This was my first outing offroad and it would not have been done without them.

THANKS VERY MUCH
