Here's the rub .......

City Navigator v9 DVD successfully installed and unlocked, however when I tried to transfer all 600 maps totalling 2214.1mb to my 4Gb Compact Flash card (via a C/F card slot in my PC), after going through the tedious index file build up etc. when it got to the final hurdle of transferring the maps I'd get an error message which popped up and disappeared too quickly for me to read.

After two further failed attempts, I decided to see if I could download the maps directly to the C/F card while it was resident in my 2610. This time, the following error message appeared :

"The map set is approximately 2214.1mb, but only 2048.0mb is available in the destination. Please choose a smaller map set and try again".

I had formatted my C/F card before starting and confirmed that there was 3.9mb of available disk space - so technically loads of capacity for all the CN v9 maps.

City Navigator v8 consisted of 216 maps and 1809.5mb.

I eventually overcame the problem by "deselecting" certain maps to reduce the size to below 2048.0mb, but I'd really like to hold the entire CN v9 map set on one card.

Why am I not able to download the full set to my C/F card? :nenau

What version of mapsource are you using?

Changes made from version 6.11.5 to 6.11.6:

This version of MapSource no longer supports Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows NT.
Fixed an issue with transferring map sets larger than 2 GB to units. MapSource supports transferring map sets up to 4 GB in size. Note that some units do not support map sets over 2 GB in size.
Fixed an issue with creating a waypoint from Japanese address search result.
Fixed an issue with MapSource not finding Google Earth Pro when installed.

Aha! That may be it. I was on version 6.11.5. Will download the 48.7mb of version 6.11.6 and see how I get on. Thanks John. :thumb
