Classic bike quiz

I’m taking my very limited contribution as a win win :JB

I recall riding a friends XL250 in Germany in the late 70’s. I think it had the same engine as the later CB250RS, a really torquey little thing. The XL could lift its front wheel in 2nd on the throttle alone. I wish I’d owned one.

If I remember correctly the Z200 had a cable operated disc too.

Disc brakes in the 70s on a rainy day... 🫣🫣
I used to park my Suzuki GT250 at College underneath the building overhang with the front end sticking out. One day it had rained and the disc was pissed wet through. I set off up the drive, hit the brakes at the end and nothing happened for a second or two, so I squeezed harder. In the blink of an eye I was sliding on my arse, wondering what the fuck had just happened.

This rings a bell from my GT750A

"CAUTION

Braking action may be delayed when the discs are wet"

The "Norton Something" is a Featherbed International with the 500 OHC engine very rare and lovely thing (and valuable) its the same engine that was used in the Garden Gate inter
We have one in the pipeline to feature in a video but the owner has been chasing an electrical problem hopefully next year
