Went to the classic bike at Knebworth House on Sunday. As ever, there was the usual range of characters flogging ancient rusty bits from the back of transits—I always find the more interesting stuff in the bike park that people have ridden in. Here's a few.....

Proximity to Stevenage seemed to bring out a few Vincents

A swoppy Triumph - only ever seen these in photos...

A trials, er, thing (don't know the make but the forks look different)

Hmmmm, smoky paint!

No, no idea what this is...

Or this....

Or this, (an alternative to Steptoe's muffs :nenau )

Looks like starting a lawnmower....

Very nice, but is it ever ridden?

Orange, I like orange....

Part of the reason for going is that I'm thinking of buying a classic bike for a restoration project, a Vellocette in particular (long story). A nice pair...

Of course, there are always examples of questionable taste...

Hmm - bit more of a bitsa than a X65. The frame is too early (not oil in frame) and the engine has a single carb head rather then twin carb - or maybe I'm wrong - have to look it up when I get home.

Boringly yous

Simon

It's a tarted up A65, in the correct frame.
The trials is of course a DOT, with Earles forks and the delightful red scooter is a Moto Rumi.
Love Jotas me :thumb

I knew it didn't look right - the tank and panels were used on the 1972 X75 Triumph Hurricane - a tarted up BSA Rocket Three - never intended for a twin. 1972 A65s did have the oil-in-frame frame - the one on that X65 is an early frame as it has curved subframe supports rather than a straight support

Aksherly - I think the guy who has the Moto Rumi , sold me a Funduro fairly chaepo 'bout 18 months ago . He was funding it's purchase for restoration.

It's the first one I have missed for years. Living 120 miles away instead of 10 could be the reason... :)
