Has anyone found some decent clear tank pads for the GSA? I can buy some Eazi-Grip and cut it down, but it'll probably look a bit Heath Robinson, so I'd rather get some pre cut pads. Anyone found anything half decent?

Nutty, did you check nippys?

See this. http://www.nippynormans.com/tank-pa...13-on-for-gloss-paint-2-pieces/productreviews

The reviews are favourable. Though eazi grip may provide more grip and not just paint protection.

That's just pre-cut ventureshield type material and not applicable to the GSA .

What happened to the vinyl Rich !

It went wrong! In fairness, Tota from Signature CD is sending me some more, free of charge, but I'm thinking of something a bit more comprehensive either in addition to, or instead of.

I've spoken to the guys at Eazi Grip this morning, and they don't currently do anything for the current GSA, however, are going to send someone down to their local BMW dealer this week to measure up, and design a grip for the GSA.:clap

If there's anyone here near Farington, Leyland PR25 4GU with a current GSA that can take their bike to Eazi Grip, let me know and they could use your bike for the design, and I'm sure would give you some pads free of charge.:thumb

I used Venture Shield from invisible patterns.

Glossy or matte, pre cut - perfect.

I have some R&G ones fitted.......they don't look Heath Robinson, but neither do they exactly enhance the look..........but they do stop by trousers scratching the paint when off-road/crappy conditions, as find wet dirt and dry dust between legs and tank start impacting the paint pretty quickly. From a visual point of view they are definitely more function over form.....and have to get the placement right as they only cover a small patch, rather than the whole area.

I think the R&G ones are made by Eazi Grip. Have you got a picture?

I like the film idea, but tank pads will be harder wearing. I'm surprised that there's no one out there doing clear tank pads for the gsa.:nenau

It's that 3m stuff, how hard wearing do u need it! Not sure on the clear pads but that stuff is pretty good , i stuck it on my 2011 GSA on the metal sides and the tank pad area it was still looking new after 9k miles.

Good point! I had an email last night from Signature CD to say that they're redesigning theirs, with a different material, so I should have the replacement next week. Will see what it's like.

Are you finding the G S letter transfers have rub points where your knees go by any chance? Same here and although they are lacquered in they will soon look rough. I have fitted a robust clear film on mine exactly the same shape as the Wunderlich tank pads. How you ask? I got Bahnstormers to trace around a Wunderlich pad as a template. A couple of minutes with scissors and hey presto......

The film I got from Mott Motorcycles. £15 for three large sheets.

Yep, my Rukka trousers started to rub the transfers. Bit annoying, but I caught it early. Have you still got the template?

Yep, same here, caught it early. Damn Rukka :green gri

I will have a look - probably not.

The film is pretty thick and very tough - certainly doesn't work cold. I warmed both the tank and the film. It is used to protect off-road bikes apparently.

Check these near me http://www.privacytinting.co.uk/index.html

They do 3M venturesield kits for bikes, and if you let them do it, it'll be a 1st class job.

The owner has just bought a new TB and just had the kit put on......top job too. I saw it just after it had been done. :thumb2

It's the same place I posted a link for, Russ I think he is called if same guy still. They did my GSXR n Multistrada full kits, but a tank kit is just about doable yourself with patience.
