Clock reads 0:00

I had intermittant starting problems, slow cranking, clicking starter dead display and the battery did not seem to take a charge. It turned out to be a loose connection to the battery. Cleaned the terminals, remade the connections and it's been fine ever since.

I nearly shelled out for a new battery and only found out the real problem by chance. It cut out at traffic lights and seemed to be completely dead. Bumped it up the curb to get off the road and all of a sudden we have power again. It's worth checking:) :thumb

With steptoe..

I am with steptoe..
Mine GS had a similar problem.. turned out to be a fuse....

certainly worth a check..

The real answer is ...

[
When every the ignition goes off the clock goes back to 0:00.

What have i done !![/QUOTE]

:rob In typical fashion everyone looks at the worst case scenario.
Lift the seat, go to the fuse box, chech the fuses, replace the blown one - 15 amp from memory - everything works again.
The tell-tale is GSA - you have fog lamps fitted dont you:rob .
Once you have fitted the new fuse, go back to the dealer and have him refer to the service bulletin and install the frackle that stops water geting into your fog lamps and blowing the fuse.:bounce1 . Now everyone is happy !

Send me:beer:   as service fee.

cheers gregGS

I don't have fog lamps ......

My 02 GSA exhibited similar problems just before the battery gave up. The ABS was becoming more problematic at setting itself and the clock reset at 00.00 (probably whilst it was cranking over and drawing everything from the battery). I fitted a new battery and have had no problems since.

If the battery is having a meltdown, it could cause the charger to play up.

How many other UKBEGgars are on this site?
three that i know of:D

We get everywhere ... :D :D :D
Oddly most of us have second bikes ....

Just wait until Att realises that his Caponord is really not a good as a GS ....
