The bike is left outside at the moment due to me not clearing out the garage. Had to start it this afternoon to move it back in to the garage, yes got around to it today, anyway pressed the start button a squeal from the alternator drive belt I assume!! plus the clock reset to 0.00 any ideas

Thanks Gary,I hope the weather improve for monday for you all

check fuse 3 i think... a steptoe hint... for the clock bit anyway:)

No problems with the fuse have pulled each one all ok,clock is working ok with the engine off key out etc its just when I go to start the bike the clock resets but not all the time, plus the belt squeal when ever I start the bike!

Belt slip.

The alternator belt is slipping and not charging the battery properly. The beelt MUST be adjusted and then all your problems will cease. The added load of starting means very low volts to clock so adjust your belt now before you get stuck somewhere. Mr Steptoe has avery good sticky on how to carry out this adjustment on this site.

Your belt deffo needs ajusting' but don't forget to recharge the battery "on or off the bike" before hitting the starter again cause if your clock is resetting as you try and start it must be quite low on charge now.
