Hi guys,
Some wisdom required if possible...
2000 1150gs 27k on clock.
I get what I can only describe as a 'knock' when the clutch lever is pulled in and when engine is at operating temp. All other aspects of the motor are fine.
Any advice greatly appreciated. :(

Ah Sir Steptoe :bow
You still have the knack of putting your finger on the problem almost immediately!
I thought i'd sorted it out by not starting the bike...

Best take a look at the post "transmission noise".14 posts down from yours.
Good luck

And where would this "knock" be coming from ?????

Seems to be coming from the clutch area.I tried to pin it down more accurately but only succeded in burning my ear!! Certainly seems worse when engine at normal temp than when cold?.Gear change is not affected.

Don't worry about it - if it's the noise i think it is, some bikes make it, some don't.

my 2000 1150 used to do exactly that, annoyed the shit out of me for years, never got any worse, never solved what exactly it was.

recently traded the bike & replaced cat & OEM can, and feck me! the noise vanished. how does that happen then?

still none the wiser :eek

Thank you for your help Sir,I shall as they say 'monitor the situation' :thumb
If it all goes bad it probably wasn't the noise you thought it was!!
Thanks once again :bow
Cookie I think I might be in that area too...What the Feck is it??? Maybe it will go away tomorrow.....
