Do the words 'string' and length' mean anything to you? :thumb

(sorry, couldn't resist it!) :thumb

My 1100 is up to 75,000 & never been apart ,pulls from 2000 rpm in top with no slip :thumb

and my 1100 needed a new clutch at 17k miles - way to many variables i.e. town riding, long rides, two up +luggage etc etc = hence long dogs comment

I never have been heavy on clutch's Sold my combi van with 175000 on it (same clutch) i Know what you are saying ,but @ least he can hope :D

Thanks for the info boys. I had an 1100 Gs from 1000miles to 37K with no clutch probs. I am off to Morocco next April on this 1150 Beak (2nd time) by then I will have about 48K on it (can't ride in the Grampian mountains between dec and March due to 1meter of snow most days). I was just considering a bit of preventative maintainance, if for example people were experiencing clutch failures around 55 - 60 K it would be worth renewing before Morocco as Garages are like rocking horse sh*t once you pass the Atlas going south.
