clutch life

nice one the celt would you mind having a look as ive probably made it clear i dont have a clue,where in belfast are you going,email me if you wish.

hello all just bought my first bmw its a 1998 r1100gs,problem is if im riding along at a steady 50mph and give it a handful of throttle the clutch will slip for a couple of seconds,could the clutch be going after 30K if sohow much do you reackon for a replacement my local dealer says £600!!!!is he right or does he know im a newbe??

sorry for being the cynic. Did the dealer mean 600 to repair the old one?
 
£600 for complete new clutch.
the celt is very kindly going to have a look at it tomorrow night so fingers crossed it doesnt need replaced
 
my 1100 same fault about same mileage clutch fork siezing up giv it a bit of wd40 or the likes now done 95k on same clutch, its dificult to get into in front of the back wheel get under the bike with a torch and look for the clutch fork pivot worth a try :thumb2
