Clutch problems

Having clutch problems with my 16.5k 2002 1150GS.

Over the past couple of days the 'bite' on the clutch is engaging when the lever is closer and closer to the bar.

Its going to be unridable soon.

In view of the fact that a BMW dealer repair is out of the question (cash flow) I would welcome any advice or suggestions prior to my usual 'have a look myself' session with and old screwdriver and some rusty spanners!!!!!!

You have air in the system. It's a bit simplistic to say 'bleed it', 'cos that won't solve the root of the problem. It could be many things, but try checking the bit of solid pipe out the back of the slave cylinder - they have been known to corrode badly.

Thankyou littleredrooster, I will investigate with manual and rusty spanners.

Will keep you updated, may need more advice as the spanners generally get me into trouble!!!!
