clutch push rod help

[the celt]

fitting a new clutch to a 1996 r1100gs also new push rod, the old one was brass rod and metal tip new one is solid metal but a grove 2" from gearbox mount where a piece of felt is fitted, is this normal was the push rod changed by bmw or have i got wrong push rod.

Celt, The felt on the pushrod stops any stray oil working it's way down the rod and onto the clutch. Don't worry about it, it's the right one and it is an official mbw modification. I've just done mine and it was the same.
