Hi can anyone help advise I have changed the vario panniers on my GSA to a set of BMW ally ones.
they came with a key but i would like to code to my ignition key local dealer is quoting £18 per cylinder + £72 + vat for an hours work ouch !!!!
open to any suggestions you may have

It's quite simple to take the locks out and re code them yourself.

Sometimes you can just swap the leaves about to get them to work.

If you still have the varios you could just swap the locks.

I'll see if I can find the link I used to help me out

Thanks shunt.

I took them apart and followed the instructions in the link it was simple to do but i will need some of the lock tumblers when i rearrange them they wont go into the correct position short of no 2 and 3 marked parts.
i cant nick any bits from the Varios as i would like to sell with the locks working ie swap keys from my original to the key that came with the new panniers.
maybe a call to my local dealer for spares

You can leave some of the leaves/wafers out and the locks will work. But then you risk the locks working with other keys too. Personally I can't see it as a problem.

You can even leave ALL the wafers out, but then they will open with ANY GS key.

If you can work out what leaves you need it would be worth putting a wanted post on here for them.
Worked for me, I might have 1 left. Possible a number 1. If it's any help.
