Cold start up??? KTM990

when i start the bike from cold the revs jump to 4000 not 2500 does anyone have any experience of this or possible solutions? only started after modifcation to starter motor. dealer said diagnostics brought up nothing, any one have a similar experince??

Possible solution

If i touch the throttle on start up the bike tends to rev pretty high to start with but now i just hit the starter button only and no problems at all. My friends 990 done the exact same when he touched the throttle on start up.
