Is it me regarding this noise. Sounds like someone is strangling Orville. I noticed it last year when starting up on a cold engine but its worse now.

Ive been asked to book it in for investigation.

Sounds like it could be the starter clutch to me.

Maybe get a third party do do the switch on/off & get down close to the starter, then the exhaust valve.

It just sounds too loud for the flappy valve - anyway doesn't that exercise, then set itself when the ignition is switched on, rather than at start-up?

The sound does it on shut down as well so the starter clutch is not engaged ? Had a similar sound on my 1250 , but switched to a de cat with no valve , stopped the squeak . Maybe try disconnect the connector on the valve motor then ( ignore the warning lights) and try it then , no noise , its the valve , noise ... I will get my coat ..................and go back to the Ducati Forum :D

ha dont go!!!

how's the Ducati doing? Worn thru any brake pads yet?!! :beerjug:

Picked it up today after the new starter motor fitted, all good again and happy with the service from bmw dealer, they lent me a brand new top spec R1250R courtesy bike which tbh surprised me, it was lovely, very torquey and smooth and a super slick gearbox, pleased to get my bike back, its what I'm used to now and I like a fairing especially in winter, owned almost a year and no regrets. Looks like they slipped another recall in looking at the workshop notes:
