Hi folks. Just thought I’d jump in on this as I too have the D09 Pros wired up to my Ezcan (on a 1250). I have spoken to Paul and Ronnie about set up too.
I ran in to the same issue with only having 2 aux light options in the Hex, when ideally there would be 3 for the DRL, low and high beams.
I experimented with a few setups but ultimately ended on a 2-channel setup with the high beams on one set to strobe on pass etc and to run at 10% for night DRLs. I personally like the orange DRL rings so I opted for those over the low beam on the second channel and run them as day DRLs, and off at night. The low beam is just the lower portion of LEDs illuminated so figured all of them at 10% was not a bad alternative.
For wiring I used the 2-wire Hex pigtails and have all negatives (two from the lights and 2 from the pigtails) joined together, then the orange wires from the lights join with one positive wire from a pigtail and the yellow wires do the same on the second pigtail. The white wires are unused to heat shrunk and tucked away.
I did think about setting the orange DRLs as indicators 1 and 2 and on as running lights, but the two downsides of this for me were 1) this would use all 4 channels so no room for a rear brake etc and 2) there is no day/night config for indicators on the Hex so they would be on all the time.
