First day on the road for two new S10s. The third bike is Trainmans 300 mile nearly new bike.
All three supplied by Adam at Tinklers.
How often might you see 3 together at the same time.

Had a great days ride out put on 150 miles towards the first service target, Richards photo here we should have taken a few more but just kept on riding.

It's the 70s link back to my 76 RD250 blue with the speed blocks.
Got to admit I like the white it would have been my second choice, would not buy the 2015 colours I think Yamaha might have shot themselves in the foot with the 15 color options.

Nice bike but the silencer and guard are hideous.

You soon get past the bulky look of the shield it grows on you, plenty have been modified with after market end cans to good effect,
Mine will soon be wearing its panniers full time which will loose the look of the shield not that I mind the look as it is.

was good to meet up at the weekend and the sun stayed out - mostly

first service end of next week by which time it will be closer to 1000 than 600!!

looking forward to a mild weekend

Peak-Park
just trying to guess your location from your user name, are you Derbyshire based by chance.

I take my S10 in next Thursday for it's first (600 mile) service. What price have you guys been quoted for the service?

Unfortunately can't help you with the cost as I managed to negotiate a free first service as part of the deal.

The dealer told me, however, that Yamaha have followed the trend and removed all of the subsidy from the first service, probably to keep the headline price of the bike down. If my info is correct the bill will include both parts and labour at full wack and will probably be more than you were expecting.

Sat at dealers now waiting for 1st service to be done, should be @£60 as only paying for parts mind you cup of tea and gammon egg & chips thrown in, wish I could say part of the deal but it was for sending me out on a incorrect plate. Still very nice grub.....

What dealer is it? The service book says labour is free on first service. My dealer wants to charge me £130 for labour and parts, says what's in service book is an error. I have spoken to Yamaha customer services who say the free labour was only until the beginning of this January. It doesn't mention that in the service book. Yamaha customer services are supposed to be contacting my dealer for me.

CMC Chesterfield, did the deal at Xmas but wanted it registered in January 2015, service manager said I was lucky as Yamaha had changed the 1st service pricing from the 1st January and should be £140. Getting worried as now been at the dealers for 2 1/2 hrs when I was told 1 1/2 . Did tell them it had stalled 3 times and running lights were set high.

In the Warranty Booklet supplied with my bike on March 1 it clearly states that there is no labour charge on the first service as long as you are the original owner and take the bike to the supplying dealer.

If Yamaha change their first service policy they must also change the official written documentation otherwise they should (legally must?) stand by printed terms and conditions. To say it's a misprint is ludicrous.

Hi Zed, yes Derbyshire based, Bakewell with Matlock not too far away, plenty of good roads to choose from.

First visited Matlock Bath in 79 a group of us rode up from Norfolk on a wet Friday night no campsite booked just rocked up at the first site we found between Matlock and Matlock Bath pitched the tents in the rain bikes running headlights on for lighting the spot it was around 11pm the site was packed think it was a May bank holiday, next morning the owner threw us off with a few choice words, apparently we ignored the sign on the bolted gate "No Motorcycle Groups" OH sorry mister didn't see that. (found the same attitude in a lot of pubs and campsites in the area, well come to think of it same attitude towards bikers everywhere we went in the 70s-80s). As a result of being thrown off this site we carried on down the A6 and found a site called Hilltop, great location the owner gave us a pitch on a riverside spot away from all the other campers, we returned to the same site same pitch several times during the following few years.
Had many great times in the area with the bikes, later when the children came along (bikes all sold) we would regularly holiday in the area with our caravan, more recently since the children are now in their 20s, the two of us come to Matlock with the bike rent a cottage and spend days riding around the excellent roads and days walking in the peaks, we missed last year first time in 6 years we haven't made it but will be back this year for sure.

You are so lucky to have so many great places to ride to with routes starting right outside your back door.

Zed lovely story and nice that you like the area, I suppose me living here makes me a bit blasé/jaded/spoilt to the sights and it takes someone like yourself to remind me how lucky I am living here. But being a farmer next doors grass is always greener than my own :augie. When you come up again perhaps we can go for a ride.
Fatal: The cost of my 600 ml service today was £58.32 parts only no labour and they fitted a mirror extender for me foc, so really pleased with CMC Chesterfield :)
PS
Was quoted £230 for 6000 mile service if it helps anyone

got this free as part of the deal but was aware that Yamaha have said they will charge parts and labour from 2015, I agree that paperwork needs changing if that's the case

Don't forget South Derbyshire. Also some great roads and far fewer blanket 40 limits with even slower day trippers clogging the roads.

Once we set some dates, probably late September I will make contact with you see how you are fixed for a meet and a coffee.

Picked mine up on Oct 28th last year and first service at Tinklers was parts only at £71.20, just had 6,000 mile service at £196.83 and used the half bottle of shaft oil I paid for at 600 mile service, say 600 miles but I did 750 miles as Adam said the longer you run it in on mineral oil the better, apparently they run in their demos for 800 miles on mineral oil, got to say she is as smooth as silk now :beerjug:
Didn`t get a deal on first service but as mine was the base model when I went to fit an alloy Give rack found that you need the Yam topbox mounting plate at £100+:blast but Tinklers had a new one they didn`t need on demo bike so they gave it to me gratis :beerjug:
P.S I have a blue one, by far the best colour:rob
