Round seven was at Steve Hind’s place on the North Yorkshire moors near Whitby and what a cracking venue.
We went down for the Saturday play day and Ollie did ten laps or so and was feeling good for Sundays race but still not happy getting the four stroke off the line.
Sunday race day and sure enough he bogged it and was third last away. Max Lampkin was away at the front but we didn’t need to beat him for the championship just needed to beat his main rival who he sat behind for a bit and pressured him into a mistake which dropped him down to fifth so job done at that point. Ollie made his way up to a comfortable second but decided to ditch his goggles as they were steaming up and immediately knew that was a mistake. A small crash on the last lap dropped him to third but a great result nonetheless.
He’s got a five point lead now going into the final round at Driffield so feeling pretty confident.
What could possibly go wrong ……….
