OK so I could have just emailed or PM'd Greg or someone, but if I don't know it's possible that others don't either.

So, what's the difference between CFI & CFII and which one is going to be the best one to use in the2610?

Thanks in advance

Lee

Grumpy, it makes no ferkin difference to the Garmin GPS system. Its all about write speeds, and the GPS reads them so don't worry bout it.

If you were a pro photografer you'd worry bout it...

And stop being grumpy.... If you'd done a search you would have found PAN's answer on that one....:beerjug:

Type I and Type II are different physical specifications. Type II is thicker. I believe the 2610 supports both. Most cards available are Type I. I wouldn't worry about it too much - just get a Type I.

I got a 1GB Kingston one for my 2610, but it wont work. Waiting for a reply from Garmin to see if they have any ideas why it wont work.

I have a 1GB Kingston CF and have the same problem l did find that if you push the card in and out quite a few times that it would start to work but then when you turned it off it would not work when you turned it back on. Phoned Garmin and they were going to e-mail Garmin USA have not had achance to get back to them,if you hear anything please let me know.

Hi guys, just stepped over here from the VFR owners club site as I am told you are the experts on GPS!.

Anyway, I have just bought a 2610 and was going to add a Kingston 1gb card when I saw your post regarding them not working.

Did you get a reply from Garmin?. I noticed that they mentioned on there software updates that they had apparently fixed the compatibility issue for them, is this not the case?.

Cheers:beerjug:

Garmin said as far as they know there is not a problem.l have only tried it in a B*W Nav 2 it works ok in card reader so l am going to try it in a Garmin 2610 sunday and see if it works could be B*W updates are not quite the same as Garmin will let you know.
