I posted the other day in the 1200 section looking for some info. It seems now with a little one well on the way that a new kitchen and bathroom are more important so I may be looking to an 1100 or 1150.
I sold my 1150ADV during the summer as I just couldn't handle the bulk of it. I was fine once moving but shitting myself every time I had to put my feet down at a stop. I even had the -20mm wilbers on it. So I got myself an 1100 Pan European but I think once you have the bug of an adventure style bike, it never leaves you. The Pan is now for sale (2002 Pan with 4000 miles in mint condition anyone?)
So I know an 1150ADV is definately out, although I'd absolutely love one again. Today's current thinking is an 1100 as they are cracking looking bikes, but looks are not everything. More than likely I won't have a chance to test ride one as I'm in Ireland and there are not many about.
So how does the 1100 compare to the 1150? Whats the difference in weights, alternator output (for lights and other toys), power etc?
Best year for an 1100? Post '98? Any useful advice on the 1100's apart from replacing the brake hoses and a new seat (change that on every bike anyway)?
Cheers lads....
