So the "best" bike should have the looks of the mono, the handling of the para, not as much tupperware as the PD etc and not the high cost of the Basic / Kalahari?

it only needs the rear shock and front brake improving and it's near enough perfect for one up, two up and gentle off-roading
The cubby box is the best thing about the bike![]()
cheers to that. Very handy compartment. Haven't tried yet but you must be able to fit a coupla beers and ice in there

Fair point Bill,but theres no excuses for the hideous paint schemes and the cubby hole on top of the tank which would probably take another litre or two of precious fuel .

I would be interested to know how your GS with the oilhead paralever fitted fits into your comparison, especially off road wise

A para, a full 43l HPN tank, full of luggage, 20l water, foodOh and a little bit of a engine tunning makes a big difference

I know I'm probably awakening the Prince of Darkness by saying this but in all the years I've been riding airheads I've never had one fail.
i have had one go on my old PD, and seen loads fail on guzzis (identical part). that's why i'd say they are a weak point.
at least you might get some warning if you notice the charge light doesn't come on when you turn the key. FPC will most likely just fail

I know it's a weak spot Cookie. Just taking the oppourtunity to brag about my own luck at not having one fail![]()
