Comparison..Monolever, Basic, R100GSPD

Had a rotor go on my old R80, in the depths of France, and had problems with both voltage regulator and diode board on my mono RS. All are weakpoints !
My PD now has a high output regulator from MotoBins, but I'm very tempted by the solid state alternator that Bam Bam has. Instructions for fitting are a tad confusing, but may go this route soon. Least I can go round and ask Bam Bam for help ????

Having identified the potential weaknesses with the standard charging system on the bike for The Gambia trip I decided to go with an uprated system and went with the Enduralast solid state version after reading various articles including BamBam's on this very site. :augie

Service from the guys over at Euromotoelectrics was second to none not only did they supply a spare controller unit for the trip but they also made a generous donation to the Calum's Road fund as well, can't recommend the company or the product highly enough. :thumb

That system blends in very well :augie

:D

Roger, mate, may have a friend who needs a replacement rotor, have you one for sale:)

Funny these common faults :augie
You read all about them then get Paranoid :comfort
I have done loads of miles on Airheads over the years and always carry the following spares when i go on a trip abroad
Distributor
Ignition Coil
Alternator rotor
Diode board
Coil
Rectifier
Oil cooler bypass
Ignition amplifier
Clutch cable
Throttle cables
Plus an assortment of other bits and bobs

They all fit in the ammobox on the back of the bike :thumb

And guess what I have never needed one of them
Will need the lot next trip after saying that !

Surely the 3 vehicle support team should have everything he needs, plus a spare producer, in case he has a tiff with the first one? Or maybe it's a Film Ditributor he means ?
